Wordy Birdy ("we", "our", or "us") is a children's spelling app designed for kids aged 3–7. We are deeply committed to protecting the privacy of children and their families.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect (spoiler: almost none), how we use it, and the rights you have as a parent or guardian. We've written it in plain English because we believe you deserve honest, readable answers — not legal fog.

📋 Information We Collect
The app does not require an account to use. There is no registration, no login, and no profile of any kind. Your child simply opens the app and plays.
We do NOT collect:
- Names, usernames, or email addresses
- Location data (precise or approximate)
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Photos, audio recordings, or microphone access
- Contacts, camera, or any other sensitive device data
- Usage analytics or behavioural tracking data
Section 03
💾 Data Stored on Your Device
Wordy Birdy saves certain information locally on your device only to make the app work and remember your child's progress. This includes:
- Words and levels your child has completed
- Stars and stickers your child has earned
- App settings such as sound volume preferences
This data never leaves your device. It is not sent to our servers, not shared with any third party, and is deleted when you uninstall the app.

📶 Offline Functionality
Wordy Birdy is designed to work entirely offline after the initial download. The app does not make network requests during normal gameplay. This means your child's activity inside the app cannot be tracked, logged, or transmitted to any server — because no connection is made.

🚫 Advertising
Wordy Birdy contains no advertisements of any kind. We do not display banner ads, video ads, interstitials, sponsored content, or any other form of advertising.
We do not use advertising networks, and no third-party advertising SDK is included in the app. Your child will never be shown an ad while using Wordy Birdy.
Section 06
🔗 Third-Party Services
We do not integrate any third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar). We do not use crash-reporting tools that transmit identifiable device data.
Because the app works offline and collects no data, there is nothing to share with third parties. We do not sell, rent, license, or otherwise disclose any information about our users to anyone.

👶 Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Wordy Birdy is specifically designed for children under the age of 13. We fully comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States and equivalent children's privacy laws in other jurisdictions.
In practice, our compliance is straightforward: we collect no personal information from children at all, so there is no data to protect, share, or delete.
We do not condition a child's participation in any activity on providing more personal information than is reasonably necessary for that activity.

As a parent or guardian, you have the right to:
- Review any personal information we have about your child (there is none)
- Request deletion of any data we hold (we hold none)
- Refuse further collection or use of data (none is collected)
- Ask us questions about our privacy practices at any time

🔐 Security
Because we do not collect or transmit personal data, the primary security risk of a data breach simply does not apply to Wordy Birdy. The only data the app stores is local game progress on your own device, protected by your device's own security model.
We encourage you to use a device screen lock and to keep your device's operating system updated for general security best practices.
Section 10
🌍 International Users
Wordy Birdy is available worldwide. Because we collect no personal data, the data transfer and localisation requirements of laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR are not triggered by our app.
If you are located in a jurisdiction with specific children's privacy laws, our no-data-collection approach is designed to meet or exceed those requirements.
Section 11
✏️ Changes to This Policy
If we ever update this Privacy Policy in a way that changes how we handle data, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through the app or our website.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Any changes take effect when the updated policy is posted on this page.
